The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is a great option if you're looking for a robot mop and vacuum that's mid-range. It's got a fantastic mopping performance but lacks some of the advanced features that are found in its more expensive counterpart.
During tests it was able to remove pet hair and dry oats from carpets with a medium-pile. But, unlike cheaper models, it doesn't utilize LIDAR to map out your home.
1. iRobot Roomba S9+
The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is one of the most highly-rated robots. It comes with a variety of features and incredible cleaning power, including an area for dirt that is built into the base of charging. The robot will learn your cleaning habits, and suggest automatic schedules that will give you a truly hands-free cleaning experience.
The iRobot Home App guides you through the setup process. Once everything is connected, you can begin the automated cleaning functions with the touch of the button. You can choose a general clean that prioritizes getting rid of larger pieces of debris such as cereal and rice, or opt for two thorough mappings of your home to ensure that your entire home is properly arranged.
This robot vacuum performs well on both floors with no carpet and carpets with a low pile. It can take in large objects and doesn't lose suction as rapidly as other models do and can pick up pet hair without difficulty. It's a challenge with high-pile carpets or plush carpets however, iRobot claims that future models will be more efficient.
The S9+ features a new design from iRobot that is focused on enhancing edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba that has a flat-fronted D-shaped design. The company hopes this will allow it to be able to hug walls and furniture. It's a significant improvement over hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are standard however we found it to be only marginally better than circular models.
iRobot claims that the S9+ also features a superior filtration system which blocks tiny particles and allergens from circulating throughout your home. It's a nice claim, however, we're not convinced it's enough to justify the high price cost.
Its smart navigation system employs a combination of sensors to remember your home's layout and vSLAM technology to map your interior. This allows it to stay clear of obstacles like stairs and other barriers and also to clean your entire home in the most efficient manner possible. The iRobot Home app lets you manage the robot and plan cleaning times, as well as set up virtual boundary markers, so it is aware of areas that need extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
When it is about robots that can combine vacuuming and mopping, the Roborock Q Revo stands out. Its vacuum settings are just as good as those on more expensive models. Its mopping system is superior because its spinning pads scrub floors more effectively than a vibrating pad.
The only issue is that it doesn't have an additional rubber brush to allow for more thorough cleaning, but it's an acceptable price to pay if you are looking for one of the top robots on the market. The dust tank on the robovac is bigger than most of its competitors. Filling it takes just two or three times, even when you've got a lot of dirt.
As for the mopping device, I was amazed with its ability to scrub the tough dirt off my floors. Its two lowest mopping modes, which are less aggressive than the higher-powered ones produce very little noise, which allows you to work or even watch TV without distraction. It will gently hit a wall or furniture and then move away if it comes across one.
What really sets the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to run nearly autonomously with very little need for human intervention. The robo-vac comes with a multi-function dock that automatically moves physical garbage into the bin hidden from view and also washes and drys the mop pads and refills its clean water tank. The app is capable of alerting you when something requires attention, like the water tank being empty or a scheduled cleaning session having been canceled because of a full dust bin.
You can also create and combine actual rooms to customize the way that Q Revo will treat your home. This feature is beneficial if you have different flooring in different areas of your house or when you have to frequently get rid of clutter like clothes, toys, and books. The robo-vac is also efficient and was among the top performers during my tests, taking debris from carpets as well as hardwoods on the first pass. It can even vacuum up wet spills. I recommend drying them with a towel before sending it to.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum that has all the features you can wish for. Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+, it is a top-quality vacuum with powerful suction that cleans carpets and hard floors, and the mop's rotating design that can scrub tough staining. It also comes with a self-cleaning base station that automatically website cleans and empty the mop pads, ensuring that they remain them free of germs and ready to use again. It also features a new sensor system that can better detects obstacles, giving it the ability to avoid falling over furniture or other objects.
The biggest improvement over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that this model has a sleeker, more modern design due to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for its Bang & Olufsen products). While still quite massive--it's nearly two feet high and deep and weighs nearly four pounds--the entire robot and its base are much smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.
This model is more efficient than the X1 because it charges more quickly and can clean up 1,500 square feet in a single charge. It also comes with a larger and more robust dust bin that can hold more debris. This makes it easier to empty.
Lastly it is worth noting that the X2 Omni has a more user-friendly app and an assistant voice that works offline, so you can use it even if you're not at home. It also has an intelligent routing feature that allows it to clean specific areas or rooms of your home instead of following a predetermined route.
The X2 Omni is the best robot for mopping. Its mop pads that rotate clean tough stains and its motor generates lots of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is excellent, and it increases suction when it detects a carpet to ensure a thorough cleaning. It also has a massive battery that can last for weeks between charges, and its mopping mode is as efficient as anything we've seen in the market for a consumer robot.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a premium mop and robot vacuum that comes with a variety of convenience features you don't often see on robots of this price range. It can build precise floor maps, recognize various flooring types and is one of the few to automatically wash and dry the mop pads. These features are nice, but they also make the L10s more of a premium category. This might make it more expensive than what homeowners want.
Created to resemble a modern floor cleaner, the L10s Ultra is a tall and slim machine with an elegant white finish that's accented by mirror-plated silver elements. The front of the machine is dominated by an enormous bumper, which helps protect furniture and vacuum cleaners from damage when moving through the house. Sensors are hidden behind the front panel, which help the L10s Ultra navigate tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the vacuum, there is a single button that is used as an on/off switch. The button will activate the vacuum. By pressing it again, you can shut it off and send it to its base station. The central control panel has the circular menu which lets you select cleaning modes as well as schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons will allow you to access the settings in the app, which allow you to customize how the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
The L10s Ultra, like the iRobot Roomba S9+ or Roborock Q Revo uses a combination LIDAR and cameras-based navigation technology to map out your home. This helps the robot mop and vacuum efficiently without getting stuck. The LIDAR also helps the robot vacuum detect and avoid obstacles, which is a nice feature for families with pets or children.
The L10s Ultra is a powerful vacuum cleaner that removes 98.4 percent of debris from our test on hard floors, and getting rid of all but the most stubborn juice stains. Its mops also perform well and remove 98.4 percent of debris from our carpet, tile, and wood tests. However, it wasn't quite as efficient in dealing with sand on the hard floor and Quaker oats on carpet.
